Als een bezetene, wijd ik mij dwangmatig de gehele dag aan het scheppen van kunst. Mijn werk bestaat uit een verscheidenheid van verschillende media; met inbegrip van tekeningen, acrylverf, metalen, en gemengde media. Ik heb meer dan 2300 voltooide kunstwerken. De kunst doet een Rorschach test eer aan. Het bekijken van de ingebedde componenten, laat de mensen een glimp van de verborgen schatten in mij zien.

Starend naar de schilderijen van Candyce Brokaw, wordt men onmiddelijk gegrepen door een overvloedige oppervlakte en een grafische complexiteit. Bij nadere bestudering, openbaart zich een uniek sprookjesachtig beeld, bevolkt door figuren, die zwevend geleidelijk in en uit elkaar overgaan. Wanneer Candyce Brokaw aan het werk is, staat de tijd stil. In haar tomeloze passie, staat zij haar binnenste toe, zich te ontladen op het papier, alszijnde een eindeloze stroom van visuele betovering. Het oeuvre van Brokaw is hoe dan ook verleidelijk, als dansende hersenschimmen over de oppervlakte van de haar gekozen ondergrond. Gelijkend op vreemde, primitieve motieven, schijnen haar creaties, de eigen persoonlijkheid te weerspiegelen.

I am a self-taught Visionary Artist, born in New York. The art is the spontaneous compulsion of my core. The creations are streams of my unconciousness.

As an obsessive compulsive I must create art all the time. My work consists of a variety of different mediums; including drawings, acrylic paint, metals, and mixed media. I have over 2300 completed works of art. The art becomes a Rorschach test. Viewing the embedded components gives people a glimpse of the treasures hidden within.

"Gazing at the paintings and drawings of Candyce Brokaw, one is immediately struck by a generous surface and graphic complexity. On closer examination, her images reveal a unique wonderland populated with figures - flowing and merging - into and out from one another. When Candyce Brokaw is at work, time stands still. In her unbridled passion to create, she allows her insides to spill out onto the page, as an endless flow of visual incantation. Be it on paper or wooden plank, Brokaw's oeuvre is in any case beguiling, as chimeric elements dance across the surface of her chosen substrate. Resembling strange, primitive motifs, her creatures seem to reflect the wellspring of fragments from the artist's own personality
